I’m Maurice Künicke. I live in Berlin, where I build software that matters.
Throughout my life, I have been fascinated by all kinds of processes and the ways in which they connect in our world. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a web application, microservice architectures, or the stars in our universe.
My goal was to understand how these things work. So I began studying physics at TU Berlin, with a focus on theoretical physics and astrophysics.
I still remember a semester in which we worked on some supernova simulations written in Fortran. I was more intrigued by the structure of the code than by the actual physics, which led me to enroll in a semester of Magnetohydrodynamics as the only student in that class, just so I could write some code.
I have since left physics to focus on general software development and project management in areas such as Finance, Sustainability, Business Intelligence, DevEx, and Internal Management.
I am a seasoned developer with extensive experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines and full-stack web applications for large- and small-scale companies.
Today, I’m working as a BI Consultant and Technical Lead for Software Applications at the areto group.
